Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser ReviewIt’s promise? With gentle vibrations it will guarantee to leave skin softer and smoother after it’s first use. It cleans 10 times deeper than traditional cleansers to remove more oil, dirt and make up. The best part, is that it can be used daily!First, I can say that it definitely follows it’s promise for instant results. After the first try, I saw a the dirt and dead skin cells on my face on the pad (as gross as that sounds, at least I’m being honest here right?) and felt a difference in the enhanced smoothness of my face. However, after using it EVERYDAY, my face started to dry up and resulted in a burn like peel. I was horrified! I’ve never considered my skin to be sensitive skin and I only used one pad, but that scared me afterwards. The pads given from with the cleanser were their “deep cleansing pads”. Unaware of the free cleansing pads, I bought myself a mini box of their exfoliating pads. So, now I have 2(ish) boxes full of these pads. In addition to that, I lost the detachable head when i was cleaning it so now I have nothing to attach the pads to! With this being said, I probably should say to stay away from this product. However, due to the fact it’s a skin care product, it’s different for everyone. I am a combination skin type and had some not so pleasant results. I think if I were to use this product once a week or twice at most, I probably wouldn’t have had this result. It’s misleading “daily use” instruction resulted in a horrible skin reaction. In order for my face to heal, I only put moisturizer for a 3-4 weeks.  Luckily, I did not have any leftover scars :(Overall, if product is used cautiously, I suppose it could be a nice addition to someone’s skin care. However, I can not lie about the satisfaction it presented me with it’s first day-week try. The smoothness was nice, but I can get that other products that are much more safe for my face.-Rose

Rub Rub Rub & Ocean Salt by Lush are great!  I’ve been using them for about a month and my skin feels sooo soft and bright now!  Both of these have great invigorating scents that I didn’t find irritating (it fades after a few minutes).  I love how the scrubs are densely packed with exfoliant— it’s very effective and it didn’t feel abrasive.

I mentioned in my previous post that I haven’t had much luck with moisturizers.  It’s unfortunate since moisturizing is a very important part of the skincare routine.  I have combination skin and while moisturizers solve my mild dry skin issues, they tend to leave my T-zone very shiny and oily and that seriously irks me.  I am so glad Birchbox included a sample of Befine Night Cream in their February shipment— it has seriously solved all my combination skin issues!
Befine’s Night Cream claims to achieve the following:
Increase elasticity and support collagen growth through its rice bran proteins that help form collagen and provide protection for collagen and elasticity.
Tighten skin and reduce wrinkles through iris florentina root extract that provides natural flower estrogens.
Nourishes and feeds your skin proteins and vitamins through rice bran oil that contains the highest amount of Vitamin E in natural form.  This oil contains the following antioxidants: tocopherol, oryzanol, and tocotrienol.  These nutrients are used to soften and moisturize the skin.
Increase circulation for a fresh, rosy complexion through cocoa caffeine
Information from the Befine website.
I can’t really say if it reduces wrinkles since I have none and I can’t tell if it promotes a rosy complexion since I have light tan skin, but after two weeks of using this I can say that it achieves its other claims!  If you’re wondering how I managed to use a deluxe sample size product for two weeks, it’s because only pea-sized amount of this is sufficient for the whole face.  I still have a lot of product left in this tube!  I apply this before going to bed and in the morning my face feels so smooth, fresh, moisturized, and my complexion feels balanced with minimal texture disparity between my T-zone and the rest of my face.
I was worried that it would make me break out and that the caffeine would interfere with rest but it hasn’t and it shouldn’t because it’s marketed as a night cream! I love how even though this is a light-weight formula (slightly thinner consistency than a non-fat yogurt), its effects seem to last all day even after my morning face wash.  It’s also fragrance free, which is a definite plus.
Will I be buying a full-size version of this?  YES.  It’s $30 for 1.7 fl oz (50 mL).  Like I said before, the deluxe sample size (15 mL) has lasted me 2 weeks and I still have a lot of product left.  Personally, it’s worth the price since it works so well.  Four for you, Befine Night Cream.  You go, Befine Night Cream!

My usual skincare regimen is pretty simple: cleanser in the mornings and nightly scrubs, cleanser, and toner at nighttime.  Occasionally I’ll apply Mario Badescu’s whitening mask to fade blemishes.  That’s pretty much it though; I haven’t had much luck with moisturizers so I leave that out of the equation (I know, I know, shame).  Receiving a packet of myfaceworks’ I Need to be Firm sheet mask in my February Birchbox along with two other skincare products (reviews of which will be posted) was a very nice surprise!  I wasn’t really able to tell if the mask tightened my face or improved its tone because I just turned 20 this past November, so elasticity is not yet an issue for me.  However, I do feel it fulfilled its claims of improving moisture, repairing and refreshing the skin.
The mask is flimsy when it comes out because it’s drenched in serum.  That mess is one thing I hate.  The mask also has a plastic backing which I feel is somewhat  unnecessary because both sides of the mask are virtually identical; the plastic backing just acts as an obstacle… the mask tore a little when I was trying to separate it from the plastic because it was so delicate.  Enough of the packaging woes!  This product really is great.
I felt instantly refreshed upon applying this mask because it was so cold!  That’s not a complaint though.  That refreshing sensation lasted for the whole time I had it on, which was an hour and a half.  Upon removal, I was surprised to see that the blemishes on my face— healing acne scars both old and new— faded significantly.  I wasn’t even expecting that result!  After rinsing off the serum, my face felt so smooth and totally moisturized.  I was so amazed at the instant results that I couldn’t help but stare at my skin in the mirror.  It sounds dramatic right?  It felt dramatic.
Thank you, myfaceworks, for creating such a lovely product.  I’m still undecided on purchasing this at full price since 1 single is $9 and a box of six is $55 (FYI: the monthly Birchbox costs $10 for 4-5 deluxe size samples).  So a thanks to you as well, Birchbox, for including myfaceworks’ I Need to be Firm sheet mask in your February shipment.
